Frequently Asked Questions
What is Spark?
Spark is a social networking app that helps you to connect with anyone no matter where you are.
How does it work?
You can either spark the location you’re standing in or join an event on the platform. Once you’re in a spark zone take a look at the people in the location. Once you find someone that you find interesting click the ⚡️ button to invite them to chat. When the accept your invite, using the app, you can tell them where to meet you and go and connect in person.
Why is it chat-less?
In a world where texting and DMing are prominent, we believe the most authentic connections are made in person… so we made the app chat-less 🤷♂️.
What is a Spark Location?
A spark location is a venue or event in your area where you can go and meet other spark users in real life.
Can anyone see my location at all times?
No! Once you’ve checked into the location, only other users who are in the same location as you at that time will see that you are present.
Once someone accepts my spark, how will we find one another?
The user who sent the initial invite will be able to tell the invitee where to meet within the spark zone.
How do we exchange contact info after the connection is made?
Users can share their contact info and/or social media handles after a spark connection has been completed through the app.
Is it free?
Yes, Spark is free…for now!
Can Spark be used anywhere?
Not just yet, we’re thinking about it though! In the meantime, we have pre-selected venues and/or events that you can choose from to find your spark!
Will someone know if I don’t accept their spark?
No, our user’s safety is our #1 priority. If you decline a spark, the other user will not be notified. They will only be notified if you accept.
How can I report another user?
Users have the ability to report another user by going to their profile and clicking the “report” button in the upper right-hand corner.
If I report a user, will they know?
No, because you are in the same space as the offender we do not want to put you in harm's way. Again, our users' safety is our #1 priority.
